WHAT: Settings already has a ‘Find a setting’ search box that filters the ~190 settings. WHY: the app has 11 desks, dozens of settings, 13 device seats and multiple plants – a single Ctrl/Cmd-K command palette that searches across desks, settings, devices, plants and alerts (and deep-links with the right scope params) would make navigation instant for a power user, and reuses the search UX that already exists. HOW: promote the settings search into a global palette with grouped results (Desks / Settings / Devices / Plants / Alerts), keyboard-driven, deep-linking to the existing routes. Extends the existing search. Found live 8.2.0.
