What a reading is trusted to mean. Per-zone offsets, the leaf-to-air assumption, and the clamps behind every number.

Offsets (Brain scope)

Row What it does
Leaf-to-air offset (°C) How much cooler a leaf is assumed to be than the air, for leaf VPD. Default 2 °C on the brain.
Room / 4×8 / 2×4 sensor offsets Temperature and RH offsets applied to each zone's hub sensor before anything is judged.
Sensor clamps (advanced) Plausible bounds per channel; a reading outside is rejected, not smoothed, and raises climate reading rejected.

Trust

Row What it does
DHT disagreement thresholds Temperature and RH deltas beyond which the two tent DHTs are called disagreeing (an alert that pairs the zones).
Peer drift thresholds (pH, EC, moisture) Median absolute deviation from the probe peers before a channel is flagged drifting.

Placed sensors

  • Placed sensor stale window: minutes of silence before a Zigbee or Tuya placed sensor's reading is dropped from canopy and deltas.
  • Runoff sitting hold: minutes a runoff tray may read wet before sitting in runoff is raised.

Fast reading

The probes poll on a ladder: slow at rest, fast while something is happening.

  • Fast reading triggers: moisture step %, moisture slope, EC slope that switch a probe to fast polling (READING FAST on Root).
  • Fast reading holds: how long fast polling stays after the trigger releases, after a logged event (a Water entry), and after a probe comes back.

Control

  • Control-side stale horizon: how old a hub reading may be before the appliance driver treats it as missing and forces the Sonoff relays OFF. 45 seconds; shown for transparency.
