The reservoir Mix panel
Checking a nutrient mix against the plants it feeds and your own earlier mixes — verification, not prediction.

What it shows
Root has a Reservoir · Mix check panel with a 4×8 reservoir and a 2×4 reservoir column:
- Recipe — the products composed in Plants › Compose (slots with a dose and marked in inventory), each as mL for the tank at the chosen strength.
- Band — the widest feed-solution EC band across the living plants the tank feeds (their Want, by stage).
- Source water — your latest Source water test entry on the tent's zone journal.
- Tester — a water tester bound to the tent's reservoir role (Settings › Devices), corrected by Kit › Calibrate › Tank EC / pH bias; the chip reads NO TESTER without one.
- Last mix and Use — from Reservoir mix entries (litres, EC, pH, strength): litres per day and roughly how many days the tank has left.
The checks
The latest Mix entry's EC is checked against the band and against your usual — the median of up to your last six earlier mixes at the same strength — within ±10 %. The checks judge what you measured, never a prediction: a prediction from a label reads authoritative while being wrong by a third.
Not on this release: the zone journal's composer in Logs writes plain notes only (typed entries are offered on a plant's journal, and an entry logged on a plant does not count here), so the panel's Log mix / source water button opens the tent's zone journal but a Reservoir mix or Source water test entry cannot be picked there yet. Until it can, log them through the API (POST /journal/space/4x8 or /2x4 with action mix or source_water); without them the panel shows the recipe, band and tester only.
PPM depends on the meter: EC × 500 (NaCl / Hanna) or × 700 (442 / Truncheon). Quote the scale with the number.
From DSC-NuteLib
When the recipe's products are matched to DSC-NuteLib records (picking a product from the library in Plants › Compose matches it), the panel also shows:
- Predicted from DSC-NuteLib — the EC the recipe should add on top of your source water, from the makers' analyses and doses, with whether it sits below, inside or above the band and how many products could not be counted. Advisory only: it never sets a target or a dose, and a measured Mix entry is still what the checks judge.
- This week's feed chart row when a feed chart is chosen for the tent (the 4×8 feed chart / 2×4 feed chart settings,
feed_chart_id_4x8/feed_chart_id_2x4). Not on this release's Settings screens: set them through the settings API (PATCH /settings). - Medium when a growing medium is chosen for the tent (
medium_id_4x8/medium_id_2x4, also API-only on this release): the maker's pH band, water holding and air-filled porosity for the bag as sold.
Feed EC targets by stage
Root steering's feed EC target follows the plant's stage — seedling and clones 0.6, veg 1.4, flower 2.0, late flower 1.4 mS/cm, and 2.2 mS/cm when the stage is unknown — each an EC target · … row under Settings › Root. Each probe card on Root shows the target that applies as EC TARGET x.x.
