Inventory, assignment, Zigbee, cameras and firmware. Everything the brain is allowed to read from or act on — one list per tab, details in a drawer.

The tab is keyed by the URL anchor: #/settings/devices#inventory, #assignment, #zigbee, #cameras, #firmware. A card anchor opens its tab too, for example #poll-rates, #tuya, #ble, #safety-cutoff and #kit-update.

Inventory

  • Fleet inventory: every seat with role, host, In service, online, firmware version. Open a row for its drawer (host, MAC, API key state, extras). Add device / seat at the bottom.
  • Appliance power, Lamp power and Fan power: each device's watts for the energy estimates. A device matched to a DSC-KitLib product shows FROM DATABASE and is read-only until you unmatch it.
  • Poll rates: for the hub and each probe, one row per reading group set to Auto (the brain climbs the ladder when something is happening and drops to a heartbeat when a probe has no plant) or to a pinned rung. Chips show LINK UP / LINK DOWN, RESTARTED ×n and READING FAST. Read fast for 30 min on a probe captures a hand watering at 5 s.

Assignment

Which device fills which function and placement: fans (intake 4×8, intake 2×4, exhaust room, exhaust outside), appliance plugs, capability limits (max %), and where each sits for the Twin.

Probe stations: each mobile probe's idle home probe slot and tent, with Unassign home and Remove probe role.

Zigbee

The tab holds, in order: the Safety cut-off card (only once an alarm carries that task, or while a cut-off is on), the operator-defined roles and tasks catalog, Zigbee (SkyConnect), the Tuya local lane card and Bluetooth sensors (BLE). See Setup › Zigbee and Setup › Tuya.

Zigbee (SkyConnect): radio state (RADIO UP / DOWN, MQTT OFFLINE, JOIN OPEN, UNBOUND), Permit join (~4 min) and Stop join, and the device list with Health, Status, Placement / role, Zone and Task. The bind drawer places a temperature / humidity sensor by Zone, then Placement, then an optional Position so several sensors in one placement are averaged; other devices pick a Role. The Model column and the drawer's Product field show the DSC-KitLib product the device was recognised as (Identified, Possible match, Several products fit, No library product); naming the product never binds a role or changes control.

Safety cut-off is opt-in and off by default: nothing is switched off unless you pick the Safety cut-off task in a smoke, gas or CO alarm's drawer. When that alarm trips, the heater and heat mat go out of service with their relays forced off, and the 4×8 and 2×4 lamp plugs switch off and are held off. Fans, the dehumidifier and the humidifier are left alone; hub-dimmed lamps are not plugs and are not cut. By default everything stays off until you press Release safety cut-off, which is refused while any tripping alarm still sounds; the task's restore option after_clear releases it by itself once every tripping alarm has read clear for 10 minutes. Test the cut-off switches the real heater, heat mat and lamp plugs off with no alarm sounding, including a lamp in its light period, until you press Release test. A seat you had already taken out of service stays out after a release.

Bluetooth sensors (BLE): thermometers, CO₂ monitors and plant sensors the Pi hears over Bluetooth (GATEWAY ONLINE, GATEWAY OFFLINE or NO GATEWAY). Nothing to pair: a supported sensor appears within a minute of being in range, and nearby sensors that are not yours can show up too.

Cameras

Add, test, frame and control cameras, including each camera's Daily photo switch (on by default: the first lit frame after 12:00 goes into the zone's tent journal). Firmware (ESPHome)

Device table Each device's YAML, expected firmware and last-seen firmware, with Queue OTA, Queue compile and Logs ↗. A line lists any device running an ESPHome other than the installed one.
Job history and Logs ↗ The build worker's job list and a link into the ESPHome dashboard for serial and OTA logs.

Updates: Check for updates compares the running brain and each device's firmware with the latest DSC release on plausible-deniability.net (Ethernet only); Update DSC-Brain and Reflash fleet act on it. See Updating.

Toolchain & drivers: Offer fleet OTA after a toolchain update, the ESPHome dashboard URL, and under Advanced the dashboard API base, ESPHome binary and project dir paths, and the Sonoff relay driver timings (poll 2 s · stale 45 s, fixed and read-only).
