Rooms and tents: names and roles (grow, dry, cure, empty). A zone keeps its history when its role changes.

Rooms and tents — name them, flip their role in place. A zone keeps its history when its role changes.
Rows
| Row | Scope | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Zone name | Brain | The label shown on every desk and card. The internal ids (room, 4x8, 2x4) do not change, so links keep working. |
| Role | Brain | grow, dry, cure or empty. Dry judges the zone against its dry strategy preset; cure and empty have no climate band. Empty stops plant-related nags (a priority tent with no plants still warns on Climate). |
| Purpose | Brain | Flexible — follows the grow, Mother, Germination & clones, Veg or Flower. A label for now: it does not change bands, rails or automations, and it never flips the role. |
| Climate targets | Hub | Where a tent's targets come from. The 2×4 offers Follows 4×8, Follows its own plants, Custom targets or Off — no climate targets — the hub's one follower slot, so a change asks first and takes effect at once. The 4×8 shows whether it leads. |
| Canopy m² and dry strategy | Brain | The canopy area you measured (yield per m² and PPF per area use it) and on a zone whose role is Dry, its dry strategy: fast (the hub's Dry Mode, 19 °C), balanced (17 °C) or slow (15.5 °C). The hub only gets these numbers for the 4×8, while its stage is Dry Mode and the brain owns stage presets; for any other zone nothing is written to the hub. |
What a role change does not do
- It does not clear the journal. Tent and room journals continue across roles.
- It does not move plants. Retire or reassign them first.
- It does not turn the lamp, fans, heat mat or any appliance on or off, and does not change automation rules or the photoperiod.
- It does not change the hub's targets on its own; apply a stage preset or edit the targets under Settings › Climate.
Zones on this rig
The kit ships one room and two tents (4×8 and 2×4); those cannot be removed, and a room has no role, canopy or dry strategy of its own. Add a zone adds a Container (fridge, box) or a Rack with a starting role, in the room or Not in a room (a cure fridge, a rack elsewhere); place its sensors in Settings › Devices. A zone you added has a Remove button: its journal entries stay in Logs, and any sensor placed in it shows as unplaced. Only the 2×4 can follow another zone: the hub has one follower slot.
