Logs desk — journals, grow log, compare and trends

The full journal browser: plant / tent / room / Core scopes, the entry composer with typed actions and photos, edit, highlight, compare two scopes, trends around an event, and reminders.

Logs (#/logs) is the one place to read, review and compare everything the kit and you wrote down. Embedded journal panels elsewhere show the last three entries and deep-link here with the same scope.

A hierarchy sidebar: plant journals follow the roster slots; tent (4×8, 2×4), room and Core (the facility, with Settings changes under it) roll up their child scopes at read time. Each is its own journal; nothing is duplicated. A tent opens on This run — the entries since the last growing plant in it was harvested (that harvest writes a Run closed entry) — with Whole history one click away.

Every entry, yours or the kit's, freezes a sensor snapshot at the moment it was written, so a note from three weeks ago still shows what the room was doing then. Rows show the summary, time, action icon, photo thumbnails and a highlight flag. Camera photos (the daily photo, stage changes, critical alerts, harvests and flips) show the same way, captioned with the camera and frame. Open an entry to edit the note, change the time, or delete it. Twin clips filed in the room journal (a recorded tour or an exported clip) play in the row. • Entry type: a typed action with its own fields, or a plain note. Built-in actions: Note, Water, Feed, Flush, Transplant, Defoliate, Train, Top / prune, Flip to flower, Pest / issue, Harvest, Weigh-in, Dry check, Jar up, Burp, Source water test, Reservoir mix, IPM scout, Sanitation, Quarantine check and Procedure. Custom actions are added through the brain API (PUT /journals/actions); this release has no settings screen for them.
• Typed actions are plant-scope only. On tent, room and Core scopes you write notes; photos work everywhere.
• Photos are attached after the entry saves, downscaled on the Pi, stored under the media root and counted in Settings › System › storage.

The operational event stream (settings changes, lamp roll-ons, automation firings, shots, soil tests) for the last 24 hours. Read-only. No operational events in the last 24 hours is a valid state.

Compare scopes puts two scopes' Trends side by side: click scope A, then scope B, in the sidebar (plants, tents or the room). Swap A↔B and Restart pick adjust the pair; Exit scope compare leaves. In the journal list, Compare entries sets two entries and their frozen snapshots next to each other, and Export CSV downloads the loaded rows for the scope.

Select an entry and the Trends panel charts sensor history for a window around it (half-window under Preferences › Trends window around an event). This is where did that defoliation change VPD gets answered. Clear anchor returns to the plain window. A plant's Trends also carry the Runoff vs input card, built from its entries rather than a sensor; see Runoff trend and grow alert sensitivity.

A reminder is anchored to the journal, not a clock: Water every 3 days means three days since the last Water entry on that plant. Logging the entry stands it down. Snooze moves the card and never counts as done. Due reminders appear as REMINDER cards on the Alerts desk. Create them on the Reminders card under a plant's or tent's journal here (pick the action, every N days, Add reminder; pause or resume per row), or with the Weekly IPM scout and Source water check buttons in the Alerts desk's Procedures panel. Nothing actuates from a reminder.

Settings › System › Journals & storage: retention days per journal (0 = keep for ever), storage sizes, JSON / CSV / ZIP export, preview-then-confirm prune, and the grow-record archive written when a plant is retired or harvested.
